Insulin Resistance = Prediabetes
What is Glucose?
Glucose: a simple sugar, is a cell’s main fuel source and is needed for the body to function.
What is Insulin?
Insulin: a hormone made by the pancreas, helps control blood sugar levels in the body and helps cells convert glucose into energy.
What happens if there is not enough insulin?
Without insulin, glucose levels would build up in the blood after a meal because the body would not be able to harness the glucose for energy.
What happens if there’s too much insulin?
When too much insulin is around, cells become resistant to it and blood glucose levels can get too high. This situation is called insulin resistance, which can lead to a number of problems like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Fact: Three out of four Americans suffer from insulin resistance!
How can we reverse insulin resistance or diabetes?
Getting insulin and sugar levels under control is vital in your ability to lose weight and boost energy. The best way to do this is to eat in such a way that prevents highs and lows of sugar and insulin.

The more checks you have, the more likely you have insulin resistance. If you checked more than half of the boxes listed above, then you probably have insulin resistance or are already diabetic. These diagnoses are often accompanied by cardiovascular disease (i.e. high blood pressure or high cholesterol) and obesity. Attending the Serenity, Vitality, and Metabolism Workshop or Restore Wellness Workshop is the first step in taking action against these symptoms and disease states.
